Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday strongly criticised the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 following reports of a question paper leak, calling it a major breach of trust in the country’s examination system.

Stating that this was not the first controversy surrounding NEET, Patnaik said repeated paper leaks have deepened cynicism, increased anxiety and endangered the future of hardworking aspirants expecting a fair evaluation process. “As a nation, we cannot gamble with the destiny of our youth — the future of India,” he said, urging authorities to restore integrity and transparency in the examination system.
